I hiked at Torres del Paine for four days and got to the towers in low cloud. Three thousand feet of climb and you cannot see them. I sat there a long time anyway. Sometimes the trip is what you trained for, not what you saw.
When the clouds finally moved, I had already left. I have come to think of that as the lesson, not a disappointment.
